About Paystro

Paystro is building the cross-border financial platform of choice for connecting Africa with the UK, Canada, Europe and other global markets. We are building technology that makes moving and managing money across African and global markets simpler, faster and more accessible. Today, thousands of migrants, families and businesses use Paystro to move money across borders, pay important bills directly, and access global currencies through our secure FX marketplace. We believe where value is generated should not limit where it can be used. Whether someone earns in London and supports family in Nairobi, or builds a business in Africa that needs access to global currencies, the financial infrastructure between those markets should simply work. Our mission is to continuously simplify how money and value move between Africa and the rest of the world. We are a fast-growing fintech operating across complex, high-opportunity markets. We are nimble by design, ambitious about the scale of what we are building, and continuously expanding our products, infrastructure and market footprint.

About the role

We are looking for a Growth Product Manager to own the connection between how customers use Paystro and how the business grows. You will deeply understand our customers, their behaviour and the journeys they take through our products. Where are users dropping off? What drives a first transaction? Why do some customers transact repeatedly while others disappear? What would make a customer use Paystro more often, refer someone else, or adopt another Paystro product? Your job is to turn those questions into growth opportunities, form clear hypotheses, design experiments, coordinate execution and use the results to decide what we improve, scale or stop. This is not a traditional digital marketing role. You will own growth from a customer behaviour and business outcome perspective, working across Product, Engineering, Growth and Operations to make growth a deliberate and repeatable part of how Paystro operates.

What you will work on

You will own growth across the customer lifecycle, from acquisition and activation through to retention, transaction frequency, product adoption and referrals. A significant part of your work will focus on understanding and growing Paystro's individual corridors and products. Growth in a cross-border financial business is not one number. Different customer groups, markets and currency corridors behave differently, and you will be expected to understand why. You will combine product thinking, data, customer insight and experimentation to identify growth opportunities. This could mean improving the journey from KYC to first transaction, increasing repeat usage within a corridor, identifying behaviours that predict our most valuable customers, improving adoption of a product, or designing a completely new growth experiment. You will work closely with Product and Engineering to influence product improvements, and with the wider team to take growth ideas from hypothesis to execution.

How we think about growth

We believe sustainable growth comes from understanding customer behaviour, solving real friction and building products people repeatedly choose to use. We expect you to ask good questions, get close to the data and our customers, and challenge assumptions about what is or is not working. The growth loop is simple: understand the behaviour, identify the opportunity, form a hypothesis, test it, measure the impact, and either improve, scale or stop. Your role is to help Paystro run that loop continuously.

Responsibilities

  • Own growth across activation, retention, transaction frequency, product adoption and referrals
  • Use data and customer insight to identify where growth is being won, lost or left untapped
  • Build, prioritise and test clear growth hypotheses across Paystro's products and customer journeys
  • Own growth thinking across Paystro's markets and currency corridors, recognising that each may require a different approach
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to turn growth insights into product improvements and experiments
  • Work cross-functionally to take growth initiatives from idea to execution and measurable outcome
  • Develop go-to-market and adoption strategies for new products, features and corridors
  • Build a disciplined growth cadence around experimentation, measurement and learning
  • Continuously challenge how Paystro can grow faster, more intelligently and more sustainably

Requirements

  • Strong analytical thinking and a natural affinity for numbers, data and customer behaviour
  • Strong product instinct and curiosity about why customers behave the way they do
  • Ability to turn ambiguous growth problems into clear hypotheses and structured experiments
  • Commercially minded and able to connect customer behaviour to measurable business outcomes
  • An owner mindset, bias for action and comfort being accountable for results
  • Comfortable moving between data, customer insight, product thinking and hands-on execution
  • Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in growth product, product management, product-led growth, growth strategy or a similar high-growth role
  • Experience in fintech, payments, marketplaces, consumer technology or cross-border products is a strong advantage
  • You do not need to tick every box to apply. We care deeply about potential, curiosity, ownership and your ability to learn quickly. If the role excites you and you believe you can grow into it, we would like to hear from you.
